SOS VIDA NO PLANETA TERRA: Uma abordagem sobre a Ecoteologia na igreja

Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the challenges faced by the Church in the face of the destruction of life on Planet Earth, caused by predatory capitalism, presenting Ecotheology as an alternative for sustainability. At first, the world of science from Descartes is discussed with anthropocentrism to Einstein and Quantum Mechanics; then, a reflection is made on the changes in the world of work, the Industrial Revolution and the genesis of cyclical capitalism that has profit as its goal, until it becomes a machine that destroys the environment; later, sustainable development is worked on, taking into account that it is the only way to save the planetary common home today and it ends up defending Ecotheology as a strategy for solving the problem of unbridled destruction of nature in the Church,the transformations does not occur through decrees but through awareness. Because it is a university-wide study to be presented as a prerequisite to the discipline of Work of Completion of Course of the Bachelor's Degree in Theology at Faculty UNINA and, understanding that hermeneutics is in full development, the theme still raises many debates between scientists and theologians do not pretend to exhaust the discussions on the subject.
